CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. FREE INITIAL PHONE CONSULTATION
A referral is not needed to schedule an appointment. Often times, a Pediatrician will make a referral, but this is not required.
During the initial appointment, I will meet with you and your child/teen together to gather information relevant to treatment related to current symptoms, family history and any social factors impacting their lives. Often times, a child or teen likes to also have 1:1 time with the therapist during this initial appointment.
I require a parent or legal guardian to bring the child/teen to the initial appointment. A step-parent may bring the child/teen if the parent signs a release of information form prior to the appointment. At the initial appointment, the parent or legal guardian can sign a release of information allowing another family member to bring the child/teen to future appointments if needed.
The length of therapy is based on individual needs. Some individuals see improvements in a few months, while others require longer treatment. Once we meet and develop treatment goals, this will give a better idea of how long they would need to attend. This will be a fluid conversation during the therapy process as symptoms improve.
Clients have a right to confidentiality. Contents of our therapy sessions will remain confidential, as I am bound by confidentiality laws. However, below are a few exceptions:
1. A client's expressed threat to harm themselves or others
2. Mandatory reporting of child abuse or neglect to Child Protective Services
3. Release of necessary information to insurance companies for billing purposes
4. Receipt of a court order or subpoena
